Why Study AA History?
My earliest memory of AA was at a meeting my father brought me to when I was about five years old. It was in Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City. Since it was also the hospital I was born in, I remember feeling that something was wrong and that my current “bad behavior” was possibly the cause of why I was being returned. To my relief, when we entered the auditorium, people were setting up for a celebration. My father was greeted warmly but also informed that a group member had just been brought into the hospital. Turns out he was in “very bad shape.”
