I Should Have Known

I should have known I was in trouble after taking that first drink. I was 17 years old and had been given the job of bartender at one of my father’s parties. I was left alone in the kitchen with multiple bottles of alcohol, and one caught my eye,  a large bottle filled with tiny gold flakes.
