He didn't want what they had until he really needed their help

I did not want to be an alcoholic. I wasn't an alcoholic. I did not want to go to "those meetings". Nobody was going to understand me, and there was no way that I was going to relate to anybody. I could take care of myself, and I was smart enough to figure it out. My problem was my ex-wife. Oh yeah, and also my lack of employment. I sold my house because I wanted to, not because of my drinking. I just needed some time to get it all back.
