It wasn't until she faced her past that she could move forward into the present

I had heard the name AA kicked around for years. My father had been in and out of the program for 40 years, and when he died in 1994, he'd been sober for 14 years. My sister had first gone to meetings when she was 16, after a terrible drunken accident that almost cost her a foot, and could have meant her life. Today she is sober and a drug and alcohol counselor and will celebrate 27 years this month.
