Will the Lord's Prayer Survive in AA?

A member weighs in on whether or not the prayer should be included in meetings

A friend in the program told me about a proposal in her home group to eliminate the Lord's Prayer at the end of the meetings. She's all for it, citing the fact that "Nowhere in the Big Book or the Twelve and Twelve does it say anything about using the prayer in AA meetings." She also feels its presence could potentially deter a person who has "had a bad experience with Christianity." It is after all found in The Gospels of Matthew and Luke in The Bible.
