Got Used Cans? Here's a Great Idea from a Rep!

Leslie, the Area 3 Grapevine Chair writes in, "What I have done is make a display out of old coffee cans that have been decorated with copies of Grapevine & La Vina covers. We use these to collect money for subs in our group!"

Leslie sent some instructions and photos to help you get started. Check them out here!

A Great Example of How to Support GrapevineGVR News

Cookie C. has written from Austin, Texas where she is the former District Grapevine Chair about an event they held last July 2011.

The event was a great opportunity to educate AAs about the Grapevine. Throughout the day, there were eight meetings, each based upon a different topic such as singleness of purpose, emotional sobriety, and spirituality, amongst others. The group had purchased an online subscription of Grapevine which they used to find articles to read for the different topics.

The day also included discussions of Grapevine history and trivia, people dressed up as clusters of grapes, and a couple of short skits. One of the skits was based upon the concept of anonymity in the digital age and was called, "The Anonymity Police," and included a cast of characters named, Lotta Me, Agent John, Sargeant Incognito. While providing some laughs, the skits provoked serious discussion on topics affecting AA as a whole.

The day was topped off with a sobriety countdown in which the person with the least amount of time was given a back issue of Grapevine Magazine.
